The page presents competing visual cues and requires one active rule. In color-word mode, congruent trials match word and ink, incongruent trials conflict, and neutral trials show a non-color string. Reverse mode asks for the written word; shape mode asks for the shape.
This browser version is not a standardized neuropsychological test. Device latency, input method, rule familiarity, errors, and trial count all affect its timing.
Congruent means the displayed color word and its ink identify the same color. Incongruent means they identify different colors. Neutral uses XXXX in a color, removing a readable color-word cue. The correct answer in classic mode is always the ink color.
Trials are generated throughout a timed block. Number keys 1–4 and visible buttons use the same answer options. Practice records the live summary but is not added to formal best-session history.
Overall accuracy divides correct answers by all answers. Each condition also reports its own accuracy and median correct response time. The median excludes incorrect responses from timing comparison but the errors remain visible in accuracy.
Stroop interference on this page is median correct incongruent time minus median correct congruent time. It can be shown only when both conditions have correct responses. The difference is task-specific and has no diagnostic cutoff.
Reading the rule becomes easier with repetition, and keyboard responses have a different motor path from touch or mouse input. Browser scheduling and display refresh also affect small response-time differences.
Compare the same mode, duration, practice setting, device, and input method. Review condition trial counts and accuracy before interpreting an interference value from a short block.
A slower or less accurate run does not identify stress, fatigue, brain region function, or health status. Those conclusions require information this page does not collect.
Use the test to understand response conflict and compare matching personal sessions. Do not use it for diagnosis, treatment decisions, workplace screening, or a general executive-function score.
