This task measures the interval between a page signal and your input with browser timing. It does not isolate nervous-system speed from display latency, browser scheduling, input hardware, anticipation, or motor movement.
Use the five-round result for personal comparison on the same setup. Do not interpret it as cognitive health, driving fitness, sports readiness, or a medical result.
Each round begins with a variable wait. Responding before the signal is a false start and restarts the preparation rather than recording an unrealistically fast reaction. After the signal, one response time is added to the session.
The session ends after five valid signal responses. Average summarizes all five, best reports the smallest interval, and false starts remain a separate count.
Displays update in frames, touchscreens and mice have different input delays, and operating systems schedule browser work. These components are included in the observed interval.
A different device can change the result without any change in the person. Keep hardware, browser, input method, and power conditions fixed for comparison.
The smallest response can benefit from anticipating the signal. The average across five rounds gives more context, while false starts show when anticipation crossed the task boundary.
Several matching sessions are more useful than labeling one run good or bad. This page does not infer sleep, stress, medication, or health from the timing.
Completed records contain round count, average, best time, false starts, and a timestamp in local browser storage. There is no account leaderboard.
Clearing site data removes the history. Page analytics and local reaction records are separate data flows.
